Let new music be the tonic that kickstarts your weekend.
Here’s a firm yet friendly suggestion of 20 new tracks for you to devour with hearts and ears, including a reworking of Muddy Waters’ Mannish Boy which was recorded in 1969 by a trio who would later be known as Band of Gypsys. Jimi Hendrix, bassist Billy Cox + drummer Buddy Miles laid it down at their first ever recording session in New York, but it wasn’t released until this year (new LP Both Sides of the Sky is out 9 March).
Our Australian music game is strong with tracks from Sydney producer Xavier Dunn, Flower Drums, DMA’s, Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird (pictured at top), Skegss, Jeremy Neale and loads of others. Press play, make day.
