The Spring-Summer 2015 Haute Couture CHANEL show conjurs images of a newly sprouted garden in the morning sun, with the crisp dew glistening in its rays. The collection features blocks of bold spring colour, signature black & whites, and shimmery pastel textures that dance in the light.
The highlights (in this corner) are the jacket collar shapes, and skirt suits – both ballerina and pencil styles sit well below cropped short sleeved jackets (which look amazing, on models). Dazzling, chiffon-layered ensembles are cinched in with thin strip belts.
Tulle swathed bee-keeper hats (a tad Marilla – Anne of Green Gables), fantasy beanies and mid-calf boots accessorise the entire collection. As usual, the production values of this show are excellent. A mesmerising twenty minutes, indeed.
