It has been announced that New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has proclaimed January 20, 2016 in the City of New York as David Bowie Day.
The proclamation will be read at the curtain call of the final performance of the sold-out run of Lazarus, the New York Theatre Workshop production conceived and co-created by Bowie.
It will come as no surprise that David Bowie‘s 28th album, ★(pronounced Black Star) has entered charts at #1 in more than 20 territories including Australia, the US, UK, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland since its release on 8 January, 2016.
