If you’ve finally mastered the domestic music festival circuit, we’ve got your next rush.
Sweat Tours was launched in 2016 by Melbourne music entrepreneur Eli Akerlund, a self-confessed thrill seeking music fanatic who offers tailored travel packages to some of most exciting music events in the United States, including Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Governors Ball in New York and the Electric Daisy Festival in Las Vegas. Akerlund says, ‘We’ve launched this year with three awesome festivals, and over time we’ll definitely be adding more tours to our set-list from around the world. In 2017 we look forward to doing some more research at a few festivals in Asia and Europe .’
Sweat Tours produces complete guided travel tours to a range of international music festivals, with all accommodation, private transfers, festival tickets, meals and a super, week-long program of group activities in the lead up to the event.
Akerlund says that the aim is to give people awesome festival memories, and that the Sweat team couldn’t be more excited for their tours in 2017, starting with the already sold out Ultra in Miami. When I ask whether Coachella will be added to their tour roster, she says, ‘We actually did have a tour already planned for Coachella, however the festival unfortunately does not work with any travel companies, or businesses that aren’t official sponsors. Without the ability to establish a sound relationship, we chose not to include the event this year. We will keep trying though, as we know Aussies want to get to Coachella, and we want to help!’ She adds, ‘Our first tour is to Ultra in Miami, featuring an overnight stay in the Bahamas, and it has completely sold out, so it’s very exciting!’
‘We live and breathe for live music. Festival line-ups are an extremely important factor when we choose our featured events. The impressive, long lists of acts across various genres performing at US events was one of the main reasons we chose to start there. The production values at these events is truly mind blowing, making for a very memorable experience.’ – Sweat Tours founder, Eli Akerlund
