ESCUDO: our Picks of the Milagratos F/W 2018 Collection

In the age of lightning speed communication, it’s never been easier for likeminded people to find each other.

We’re sure that after seeing our story on Peruvian-born Brisbane designer Moreno Marcos, Lima-based brand ESCUDO wanted to share their bewitching new collection with us. In doing so, they distinguish themselves from others. After all, good treasure needs to be shared with the right people.

Preview some of our favourite looks from ESCUDO’s Milagratos Fall Winter 2018 look book:

Escudo HERO
Classic houndstooth is layered up for a power pattern clash of epic proportions. Although the look is very monotone, the sublime building of woven textures, playful print and shine, take it to the next level of style.
Perfectly symmetrical patterns make this full length cardigan a statement piece, without the overpowering boldness or bulk of thick knits. Everything else is kept simple so that the cardigan dances. In fact, you could wear it with little else or nothing.

ESCVDO’s collections are inspired by Peru’s vast cultural wealth, combining ancestral textile traditions with woven fibres. Everything is hand made in Peru, with a firm commitment to heritage.

This is the perfect piece to layer up in Winter. If you happen to have high contrast platform booties, they are a fashionista’s way of taking this bold pattern through the roof. We would also pop a fitted, cropped knit over the top of the dress sometimes, to give the outfit a sense of newness. Utter delight.
Thick under layers in baby pink are finished with full length, finer fibers for a dramatic twin set feel (and double warmth factor). The darkly hued, oversize wide legs complete the look.

Dramatic black is layered with crisp white oversize fringing that moves with you, waving to passersby. “Hello, I’m very busy, watch me leave.”
