There is so much good contained in this playlist, some heritage gems made new again, like me after a sleep-in on a Saturday.
My favourite story goes with Weener‘s cover of Africa by Toto, which resulted after a very firm campaign from a teenage fan who insisted on it coming to pass. Gorillaz have teamed up with the legendary George Benson (one of the forefathers of Yacht Rock before it became a thing), and Paul Simon‘s epic album Graceland has been remixed. I’ve included probably the only track that does not cause offence, ‘Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes’ masterfully reimagined by Thievery Corporation.
