Canaletto & the Art of Venice screens in Australian cinemas from 2 August

The visually beautiful Canaletto & the Art of Venice documentary explores the life and art of Venice’s famous view-painter, Canaletto.

It also takes viewers inside two official royal residences at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle and was inspired by the much-hyped exhibition currently showing in London at The Queen’s House at Buckingham Palace. Watch the trailer:

Canaletto & the Art of Venice screens nationally in Australian cinemas on from 2 August for a limited time.

British filmmaker and art documentary specialist Phil Grabsky is known as the master of the ‘art on film’ genre, and is a multi-award winning Director whose career spans the past three decades. The film is shot in ultra HD 4K and was directed by David Bickerstaff.

Audiences  will embark on their very own 21st century Grand Tour, visiting the sites immortalised in Canaletto’s views – from the Rialto Bridge to the Piazza San Marco, and the Palazzo Ducale to the Church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo.
