Are you free tonight?: breeze through a Summer of Love at Melbourne’s Immigration Museum

When love comes knocking…

Immigration Museum is opening up its heart to lovers, friends, family and internet dates, playing host to two Summer Courtyard events, with the first one happening this evening.

You’re invited to rendezvous in the Museum’s courtyard to celebrate the most universal of all human emotions, love.

Tonight lovers of all persuasions can experience I Feel Love (Feb 8), a bold and flamboyant celebration of queer culture and love. The line-up includes Bhenji Ra and the House of Slé (pictured above right), Love exhibition contributors The Huxleys (seen at top) and fabulous First Nations drag queen, Zodiac (pictured above left).

Head to Valentine’s After Hours at the Immigration Museum for a happy love story and lessons on how to make aphrodisiacs.

Or, attend an intimate Valentine’s After Hours (Feb 14) opening of the swoon-worthy exhibitions LOVE and Kahlil Gibran: The Garden of the Prophet, with the Immigration Museum open until 9pm. Take part in special workshop Love Potions and Aphrodisiacs (Feb 14), with bartender and storyteller Fred Siggins (below), which explores the history and mythology behind love potions, elixirs and aphrodisiacs from around the world (book ahead as numbers are limited!)

You’re invited to rendezvous in the Immigration Museum’s courtyard to celebrate the most universal of all human emotions, love.
