The sun is out for us this weekend, so turn it UP! Crank the Reef Oil! Oh. Not everyone.
Society: Protocol
Let’s kick this week off with a Friday dance from Society, an elusive new artist on the Luv Luv Luv record label from London, also home to Florence & The Machine, a testament to Luv (x3)’s extremely good taste.
Tame Impala: Let It Happen (Soulwax Remix)
Naughty Boy ft. Beyonce, Arrow Benjamin – Runnin’ (Lose it All)
Every year, at least one enormous emotion laden anthem seeks me out, perfectly capturing the state of play at a precise moment. This is it. Also, I prefer it when Bey just sings it straight.
The Neighbourhood: The Beach
JOY. About Us
JOY.’s first single, About Us from her debut EP, has been winning hearts far beyond her home shores. Today, the 17-year old producer further solidifies herself as “one to watch” with the cinematic accompanying video – a brooding exploration of lost love, distilled in a youthful melancholia that forms a deep-running theme in JOY.’s EP, Ode.
SKEGSS: Eat It
The good times keep rolling for Byron Bay lords SKEGSS as they announce the release of debut EP 50 Push Ups For A Dollar.
The EP features the new single Eat It, and no, it’s not a cover of Weird Al Yankovic. Frontman Ben Ben Bograil describes the track as “one of the funnest lyrical songs I’ve ever written. I wrote it when I was hungry to get overseas and devour all the food in different countries. SKEGSS has a very universal diet.”
To view some of their all-time favourite food moments, see the video produced by SKEGSS bassist, Toby Twostring here:
