Meet Australia’s New Four-Day Dance Party
The first of it’s kind for dance music in Australia – MoVement Sydney promises to be a 4-day city takeover that fosters a shared love of dance music, learning the ropes and paying homage to the visionaries of the local dance music scene.
Spanning a multitude of Sydney’s most vibrant locations across multiple suburbs, this 25-event weekend in October prepares to occupy every ledge and crevice in Sydney with vinyl trucks, DJ workshops, boat raves and secret warehouse parties.
Created by V Energy Australia, MoVement will celebrate with Sydney’s favourite dance party crews as well as a star studded line-up of international and local talent from 22 – 25 October, and is set to become a unique annual event that embodies the ever-expanding dance and electronic music phenomena.
Featuring the likes of Spank Rock (US), Ghastly (US), Daniel Bortz (GER), Honey Dijon (US), Andy Hart, Seekae (DJ set), DREEMS, Sleep D, Linda Marigliano and Motorik Vibe Council.
Dance School & Moving Parts
MoVement Sydney also serves as an opportunity for budding producers and music lovers of all kind, with Ableton Liveschool offering 40% off their beginner classes as part of the event, and vinyl lessons being taught by Morphingaz at The Record Store.
On the road will be the Rolling Records van, a DJ booth and listening station on wheels, tasked with manoeuvring through the Sydney’s concrete maze, dishing out second hand vinyl and playing the hits.
With an emphasis on supporting the broader parts of Sydney’s music scene, MoVement Sydney will head to the Sutherland Shire via the Northies UV party while the Mona Vale Hotel reps the North side.
Electronic music tastemakers Stoney Roads are getting in on the action with their annual Stoney Roads Awards, where Movement Sydney will have exclusive tickets to this private event for 10 lucky people.
At the other end of the spectrum, Daniel San has your Sunday Session covered with a day brimming with deep tropical house beats beside Manly’s picturesque coastline.
