Rising grime tearaway Stormzy tore up The BRIT Awards this week with old mate Ed Sheeran, a seemingly unlikely pairing, yet in reality a grounded, normal friendship exists between the two. Together they performed Sheeran’s worldwide #1 hit single Shape of You.
Stormzy’s debut album Gang Signs & Prayer is released today, and Ed Sheeran’s new album Divide is out next Friday 3 March. The pair appear inseparable as they work the promo circuit together (think Step Brothers or Twins).
For one, they had a chat on Noisey covering important topics like socks and sandals, googly eye emojis and lots more.

Enough about Ed, meet Stormzy
The 23-year-old Stormzy first emerged on the scene in 2012, making chart history in September 2015 when his freestyle WickedSkengMan 4 charted at #18 in the UK Official Singles Chart, becoming the first-ever freestyle to chart in the UK Top 40.
The London-born artist continues to push the boundaries of grime through his self-built multi award-winning journey from his WickedSkengMan freestyles to being nominated for British Breakthrough at this year’s BRIT Awards (it went to Rag’N’Bone Man).
His current single Big For Your Boots has racked up over 6 million streams on Spotify.
“This is the moment that I have been waiting for my whole life,” says Stormzy. “I am now ready to certify my position as a credible artist and someone who is here for the long run.”
