For the first time, the Sundance Film Festival Short Film Tour brings a selection of seven shorts to Australian audiences direct from this year’s festival.
This is most exciting because Sundance is widely considered as the premier showcase for short films, with the festival providing a launch pad for many now-prominent independent filmmakers. Included are short films Night Shift starring TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe as a bathroom attendant in a Los Angeles nightclub, and Come Swim, Kristen Stewart’s directorial debut that collides heartbreak with grief and isolation.
Sundance Film Festival Shorts is on at ACMI in Melbourne from 8-16 July, 2017.
