Between 17 – 25 November, a nine day celebration will take place in the form of Melbourne Music Week.
The program will dominate the city and illuminate our proud place at the top of the Australian live music landscape. Yep, Melbourne rules live music in this country.
Melbourne Music Week, or MMW (as the cool kids call it) will showcase original and innovative music events by some of our best creative talent, producers, musicians and performers across multiple venues and institutions around the city.
The Self-Made program is designed to support and promote emerging creative individuals and groups to produce their own MMW events, encouraging them to think outside the standard live music event format.
Since 2012, Melbourne Music Week has promoted over 40 events under the Self-Made banner, ranging from gigs on trams and pop-up performances to a party at the historical Old Melbourne Gaol.
Here are our top picks of the Self-Made 2017 program;

Featuring performances from Made Austria, Dogood, and Piss Factory, who are all zine makers themselves.
