Two limited-edition clutch purses have been created exclusively for the MCA Store by Sydney-based, ethically conscious label From St Xavier.
The pieces were inspired by two artworks in the permanent MCA Collection by Australian artist Nell: Unlimited Radiance and Sunset. Nell’s signature style is instantly recognisable, with her work widely exhibited in galleries and museums across Australia. She says of the collaboration, “One of the best things about being an artist is the collaborations that take you into conversations you could have never imagined. When I first made Unlimited Radiance in 2000, I thought the work looked like an oversized, kinetic glow- mesh purse. It’s been great to see it literally transformed into a beautiful handmade clutch.”

All of their products are handmade in the North of India under strict industry regulations and a percentage of all profits of the collaboration bags will go back to the Indian communities who work with the label.

The Museum of Contemporary Art Collection contains over 4,000 works by Australian artists that have been acquired since 1989. The MCA Store was recently ranked one of the Top-10 museum stores in the world, and really enjoys working closely with emerging and established Australian artists and designers.
