A major new documentary on the life and career of André Leon Talley, former Vogue magazine editor-at-large and one of global fashion’s most influential icons will open in Australia on 12 July.
After starting his career at Andy Warhol’s Factory in the 1970s, Talley climbed the ranks of the New York fashion editorial world, making a strong mark on its culture by pushing to include African-American models and designers in such major publications as Women’s Wear Daily, W, and Vogue magazine.
The Gospel According to André features fashion luminaries from Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, Valentino, and Manolo Blahnik as they each celebrate André’s gifts, along with his outlandish journey through multiple eras of stylish adornment.
