Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane has announced its most exciting program to date, with an impressive line-up of both local and national designers, special additions and fashion-focused events.
Top Queensland designers and promising Next Gen talent will be joined on the runway by some illustrious names in Australian fashion, including Camilla, Ginger & Smart, Dion Lee, Alice McCall, Bianca Spender, Aqua Blu Australia and Scanlan Theodore presenting their newest collections.
MBFF Brisbane will once again host proceedings at Old Government House in the QUT Gardens Point precinct, a spectacular and iconic location from which to view and enjoy the Spring/Summer collections. Having thoroughly enjoyed the event here last year, The Garb Wire are excited to hear that this year the runway will span three sides of the building, allowing for a greater number of coveted front-row seats.
Fashion Festival partner Pacific Fair, will kick off the 2018 runway on Monday, 27 August showing its own leading Australian and global fashion brands.
The indulgent and ever-popular QueensPlaza High Tea and Fashion Trends series returns to the Tattersall’s Club on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 August. Hosted by leading stylist Kimberly Gardner, guests can enjoy delicious treats and champagne whilst perusing new-season trends from QueensPlaza’s renowned Australian and international luxury brands.
The magnificent St John’s Cathedral will provide Tuesday evening’s off-site backdrop to the Mercedes-Benz Group Show 1, featuring some of the most sought-after local and national designers presenting some cutting-edge couture and bridal: Camilla, Moreno Marcos, Ginger & Smart, White Label Noba, Alice McCall, Bianca Spender, Dion Lee, Scanlan Theodore, Ella Moda and George Wu.
On Wednesday, 29 August the future of fashion will be on display as the Festival returns to Old Government House for our firm favourite, the Next Gen Group Show. Presenting the creative visions of more than 20 emerging designers, the exciting list includes QUT Fashion, Kimbralou, Kokoswim, KG BOLD, Annalisse Designs, TAFE Queensland, Murrii Quu Designs, Club Couture Australia, Jordan Hewitt, Nardia Panettiere Couture, Black N Bling and ZENgara by Naomi De Marco.
Wrapping up the 2018 program on a suitably stylish note, Mercedes-Benz Group Show 2 on Thursday 30 August will see top Queensland and Australian designers showing resort, daywear and menswear, including: Aqua Blu Australia, Rubyyaya, Maiocchi, Naudic, Bonita Kaftans, Helen Grant, Sacha Drake, Bora and Urbbana.
Following the show, guests are invited to join the Fashion Festival teams in celebrating at the Treasury Brisbane Wrap Party.
