What a ripper year for Australian singer-songwriter, Courtney Barnett! The Melbourne talent returned home yesterday from another sold-out run of shows in the UK and Europe to be greeted by the news that she had just been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Of the nomination Barnett says:
“It’s an honour to be recognised amongst so many great artists on such a huge scale and it’s well beyond anything I ever imagined would happen off the back of my first album. It’s also really cool to see fellow Australians Tame Impala and Hiatus Kaiyote nominated too!”
Barnett is now preparing for a massive summer of national touring which will see her play festival appearances at Woodford Folk Festival, Falls Festival, Southbound, Sugar Mountain & Twilight at Taronga.
