BIGSOUND, Brisbane’s annual premier music conference and artist showcase is just weeks away. Remote Control Records are excited to present their latest pre-BIGSOUND party on Tuesday 6 September at The Elephant, Fortitude Valley, featuring such acts as Friendship, Lost Animal, Teeth & Tongue, Dorsal Fins, Oh Pep!, Gabriella Cohen, Leah Senior and Jarrow.
Artist Rundown:
Friendships
Nick Brown and Misha Grace (seen at top) form this audio/visual two piece from Melbourne who specialise in chaotic future sounds, featuring drum’n’bass and searing techno. Their music/art collaboration produces tripped-out, genre-bending beats.
Lost Animal
Jarrod Quarrell from Victoria plays his only show during BIGSOUND. Evoking atmospheric soundscapes through his keyboard, Quarrell fascinates with his own multi-layered, abstract, sonic textures.

Teeth & Tongue
With their fourth album, Give Up on Your Health due out 2 Sept 2016, Jess Cornelius has crafted songs that follow a lineage from Ken Loach through Jarvis Cocker. Even in her darkest hour she rules with a pop aesthetic.

Dorsal Fins
Melbourne based 9-piece band and newly-signed Dorsal Fins recently shared their first single ‘Sedated’, lifted from their forthcoming album Digital Zodiac due for release this October.
Oh Pep!
Oh Pep!’s debut album Stadium Cake is out now and showcases a unique collaboration between Olivia Hally and Pepita Emmerichs, high-school friends drawn together by a shared love of musicianship and songwriting.
Gabriella Cohen
Gabriella Cohen released her debut LP Full Closure and No Details under her own independent record label Dirty Power Studios in March. The album has been praised by Rolling Stone, NME and featured as Album Of The Week on Triple R, RTR FM & Beat Magazine.
Leah Senior
Leah Senior is a singer songwriter who grew up in the country listening to her mother singing arias whilst she blasted rock and roll from her bedroom. Her music now falls in the middle of these worlds, with slightly out of tune parlour guitars and the ghosts of summer and Nick Drake.
Jarrow
Jarrow is the solo project of 20 year-old musician Dan Oke. His debut self-released 2015 EP Legitimate showed a cheeky mix of garage pop & psychedelia. Now – after spending much of the last year studying and performing in Nashville, Jarrow returns to Australia to join the Barely Dressed Recordsroster.
After the roaring success of their Dot Dash Pre-BIGSOUND Party last year, Remote Control are excited to bring this incredible line up of Australian artists to the fore, from local labels including Dot Dash, Barely Dressed & Flightless. This completely free event comes the night before the BIGSOUND grand opening, is open to the music industry and general public alike and, importantly for some, offers plenty of free beer provided by Bulimba Gold Top.
