A dedicated streaming hub for the world’s best documentaries has opened up to audiences in Australia and New Zealand.
Featuring over 130 documentary films, with heaps more to be added, DocPlay is a VOD (video on demand) service available on several devices, in the home and on the go.
DocPlay will bring audiences the best documentaries across Art & Culture, Music, Science & Nature and Sports, and include Academy Award winners, festival favourites and cult hits, as well as a healthy injection of Australian content thanks to the support of Screen Australia’s Enterprise Industry fund.
There is a monthly subscription fee, but a rotating hand-picked selection of the catalogue is also available to stream free.
DocPlay will share the same base platform as Anime streaming service AnimeLab. Launched in 2014, AnimeLab now has over 500,000 registered viewers in Australia and New Zealand and streams over 730,000 hours of video content each month. Since its launch, AnimeLab has maintained a rating above four stars on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
DocPlay is a subsidiary business unit of Madman Entertainment, built by Madman’s VOD development team.
