‘A Victorian Silhouette’ wins 2018 VAMFF Fashion Film Awards

A short film created by Sovereign Hill called ‘A Victorian Silhouette’ has been named a winner in the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival Fashion Film Awards for 2018.

The film presents a glimpse behind the door of the Victorian boudoir revealing the secrets of 1850s Victorian silhouette.

First shown as a runway show at Sovereign Hill’s Gold Museum in 2016, and then again in 2017 as a part of Melbourne Fashion Festival‘s Cultural Program, A Victorian Silhouette offers a new way of interpreting a museum’s collections.

“A Victorian Silhouette is different to other fashion films. We’ve been able to use a lot of collection items from the Gold Museum, including jewellery and furniture. The film offers a modern way of show historical costuming and collections, and we’re thrilled to have won this prestigious award.”

– Erin Santamaria, Costume Manager, Sovereign Hill

A Victorian Silhouette will screen at various Melbourne, regional, online, and in-flight screens, including Val Morgan cinemas nationwide, The Astor Theatre, Cinema Nova, RUSSH TV, Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka and Virgin Australia’s in-flight Fashion Channel, but you can also view it here.
