Queens of the Stone Age will play two shows in Tasmania this September.
One show will be an intimate, acoustic gig in Mona’s Sidney Nolan Gallery: the home of Snake, a 46 metre-long rainbow meditation on the relationship between myth and modernity.
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Royal Hobart Hospital Children’s Ward, to assist in buying equipment and to support the hospital’s paediatric services team.
“Queens of the Stone Age have played at some of the biggest venues in the world. To have them perform inside Mona, in front of this spectacular artwork, will be very special,” says music curator Brian Ritchie. Their other Tasmanian show will be at the Derwent Entertainment Centre.
Queens of the Stone Age play Mona on Monday evening 3 September. Tickets for the September show go on sale 4pm AEST 16 August from www.mona.net.au/qotsa.
There will be a ticket limit of two tickets per person. For more information on the event, head to www.frontiertouring.com/QOTSAMONA.
