The Paper Kites Announce National Tour

On 28 August, Melbourne indie folk quintet The Paper Kites will release their stunning second album ‘twelve four’.

Today they dropped the video for the first single from the album, called Electric Indigo. It’s a sweet return to the art of story telling with song (ok, and subtitles).

Directed by up and coming filmmaker Matthew Cox and the team at Indimax Productions, the video stars actress Laura Brent (The Chronicles Of Narnia, A Few Best Men) and was set at local Melbourne haunt Dance or Go, a club known for kicking out patrons who aren’t dancing.

Dance or Go

The video’s narrative focuses on a struggling writer who heads out for the night in search of various forms of inspiration, and cleverly falls in line with the album concept (creativity between the hours of 12-4am, or twelvefour), the video is set in the enchanting hours unfurling after midnight.

“The twelvefour album is a concept record, based around a theory that an artist’s creative peak is between the hours of midnight and 4am.”

– lead vocalist and songwriter Sam Bentley

The Paper Kites is Sam Bentley, Christina Lacy, David Powys, Josh Bentley and Sam Rasmussen
