We’re incredibly honoured to nominate ourselves as yet another website with a round up of our favourite things for the year.
My heartfelt thanks to you for reading this, for supporting my epic project – after looking for work towards the end of last year, I found that I wasn’t able to fit in to a scene that already exists, so I decided to create my own. It gets challenging at times, because I’m also a mother of three sons, with an oft-absent husband, which means I miss out on going to lots of things, but my obsession with music and passion for style will always bring me back from the brink, to you. Big thanks and love to my sister Tania, my biggest supporter and best friend, and two of my favourite living accessories Craig Tinker and Katy Lefroy. Your contributions make TGW shine. Thank you so much for reading. 2016 is going to rule the school.

01 Kendrick Lamar ‘King Kunta’ (or, ‘that Sunday afternoon when I had bogan fatigue and decided to become the loudest car in the carpark’)
02 Major Lazer ‘Powerful’ (Reminiscent of Martina Topley-Bird’s vocals on Tricky’s 1995 album Maxinquaye, Ellie Goulding brings it with her soulful smouldering styles).
03 Szymon ‘Runaway’ (Evening, candlelight, a cool drink… trying to sway on the deck without falling over)
04 The Chemical Brothers ‘Go’ (Two words: Fashion. Week.)
05 JOY. ‘About Us’ (It’s not you, it’s me)
06 The Paper Kites ‘Too Late’ (Sorry, it wasn’t me after all. It was you.)
07 The Fratellis ‘Baby Don’t Lie To Me’ (That time Jon Fratelli answered my interview questions and I smiled so much it hurt)
08 Mark Ronson ‘Feel Right’ (Unable to dance a proper Funky Chicken at Splendour ‘cause my gumboots kept getting stuck in the mud)
09 Alpine ‘Foolish’ (“Mmmmm, hmmmm. Mmmmm, hmmmm”)
10 Leisure ‘Got It Bad’(For those solo, pre-office, in-car shoulder-dance times)
This is not indicative of my Hottest 100 list, necessarily. I’m still agonising over that one.
